At the British Consulate-General and Chris Gaunt, Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce in Turkey.

Speaking ahead of the launch, Colin Moody, Chairman of Pera EEMEA, explained:

“We are delighted to be opening our regional hub in Turkey. We chose the country in part because of its location and historical trading links, but most of all because of the energy and skills of its people.

“The opening of our office follows three successful years of working in partnership with the Turkish people; we are delighted to be here.

“Turkish people have a hunger for learning, a talent for adapting, and a strong personal drive. I believe it’s that which – coupled with our programmes and support – will help bring sustainable, inclusive economic growth for Turkey.”

Also speaking prior to the launch event, Chris Gaunt, Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce in Turkey explained:

“We are delighted that Pera EEMEA has set up its regional hub in Turkey. I’m confident that it will help to strengthen and develop the already significant commercial bonds between our two countries”.

Stronger trade links are a vital component to securing sustained economic growth and prosperity”.

As well as marking the opening of Pera Consulting’s presence in region, the event will also serve as a forum for over one-hundred leaders from the worlds of business, government and academia to discuss how Turkey can build strong, sustainable, inclusive economic growth.

Guest speakers will examine how Turkey pulled ahead of the rest of the world in defying the global economic downturn, but why growth is now starting to slow (down to 3.8% for 2013 as estimated by the International Monetary Fund). It will also explore why it is essential that the next generation of ambitious businesses receive the stimulation and support needed to build on that foundation and help to elevate Turkey’s place on the world stage – and where that support will come from.

Okan Kara, Managing Director of Pera EEMEA said:

“Pera’s excellent record of delivering proven programmes of growth acceleration will make an essential contribution to the Turkish economy.

“By 2023 – the centennial of the Turkish Republic – the government’s economic ambitions are for us to become the 10th largest global economy – and we absolutely believe Turkey can live up to that potential.

“I’m convinced that Pera EEMEA will be an invaluable strategic partner for the government, its agencies and businesses. We have seven decades worth of experience behind us. In the UK we deliver the two largest business support programmes in the country with an outstanding number of successes. Time and again our programmes have delivered growth across the world, frequently with an ROI in excess of 20 to 1.”

“I know we’ll be a powerful part of Turkey’s transformation.”
