Pera EEMEA is open for business

Pera EEMEA, wholly owned subsidiary of Pera Consulting, has established an office in the Windowist Tower at the heart of the city’s thriving business area.

From here the company will be servicing not just Turkey but also Eastern Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, transferring knowledge and expertise from well-proven business support programmes operating across the globe.

This important expansion into a vibrant, fast-growing market, is not Pera Consulting’s first venture in Turkey. The new office builds on an existing foundation of bringing growth and opportunity to the region’s governments and their agencies as well as businesses and academia.

Pera Consulting has worked closely with Turkish Research organisation TÜBİTAK to deliver key training to Turkish technology businesses for the last two years. This programme – TurkeyinFP7 – has proved invaluable in boosting their involvement in EU collaborative R&D projects, accessing research funding and commercialising resulting innovations.

Meanwhile our association with the Jordanian Chamber of Industry and Jordanian Enterprise Development Corporation is introducing a fresh innovation culture to Jordan’s businesses.

We are already delivering a number of contracts in Turkey, so the opportunity to further extend our service by establishing a new company was too good to miss, especially as talks about the country joining the EU have started again. Colin Moody, Pera EEMEA Chairman

Working from Istanbul will be Pera EEMEA’s newly appointed Managing Director Okan Kara, who is already aware of the market’s potential. He commented: “There is a huge pool of entrepreneurs, start-ups and small to medium-sized companies in Turkey and Pera EEMEA has the networks and experience to help them develop and grow.

“Whether it’s helping SMEs negotiate international agreements, create innovation-based smart growth or increasing Turkey’s participation in the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme, we will certainly be very busy.”

Pera EEMEA Chairman Colin Moody added that now was a perfect time to establish a base in this important region: “We are already delivering a number of contracts in Turkey, so the opportunity to further extend our service by establishing a new company was too good to miss, especially as talks about the country joining the EU have started again.”

Pera EEMEA will be officially launched during an international networking reception ‘Building Sustainable Economic Growth in Turkey’ hosted by Leigh Turner, Consul-General at Istanbul’s British Consulate-General on 11 December 2013.
